Food supplies for the elephants is always in demand. Our Food Fund provides nutrient rich food for injured, displaced and orphaned elephants in human care period. This fund also provides baby elephant formula. Elephants can eat up to 250 kilos of food per day.
We provide nutrient rich food on a monthly basis for the elephants such as yams, carrots, bananas and papaya as well as sugar cane which the elephants love to eat. The cost to feed nutrient rich food is approximately $250 per elephant per month.
